Twelve years of sitting with people who are tired of pretending.
I work with adults who are competent, exhausted, and quietly certain they should be handling it better.
I trained at CIIS and spent my first six years in a community clinic in East Oakland, which is where I learned that most people don't arrive in crisis. They arrive worn down and capable, carrying something they've stopped mentioning to anyone: a resentment, a fear, a grief that never got its turn.
Since then I've worked mostly with clinicians, teachers, and first-generation professionals: people who are good at holding things and have never had much practice being held. My training is in emotion-focused therapy and somatic work. In plain terms, we pay attention to what happens in your body while we talk, because that is usually where the honest answer lives.
Outside the office I run slowly, cook badly, and read more history than is strictly good for me. I'm queer-affirming and I work comfortably across culture, faith, and family structure. If any of that matters to you, ask me about it on the consult call.
